On the 20th of July 2016, Superflux hosted the notable Empowerment Committee of the Redeemed Christian Church of God as part of the third edition of its Business Master Class (BMC) training targeted at CEO's and prospective SME owners. The guests were welcomed by Mrs. Alero Nwana the Group Head, HR & Corporate Affairs. The COO, Mr. Gabriel Okonkwo gave the students an in-depth, but concise background on the early days of Superflux, the challenges it faced and the steps it took to overcome those challenges in order to place itself at the top rung of leadership in the industry.
Shortly after the talk, the aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging CEO's were given a tour of the company's production facility by Mr. Waman, GM (IT & Operations). It was both educative and exhilarating, so much so that after the tour, one of the students exclaimed in delight, explaining that the tour provided answers to questions asked in an exam she recently took but had failed. She however was grateful for the opportunity to have gained knowledge so useful to her field in the tour and stated that it was an excellent learning experience for all of them.
To crown the factory tour experience was a very inspiring talk to the BMC students by the President/CEO, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi. He shared with them his journey as an aspiring entrepreneur pointing out that he had treaded the path on which they were now treading and that success was only achieved through dodged determination and hard work.
According to him, a successful entrepreneur must be driven and able to recognize opportunities. When the opportunity to leave the security of a bank job presented itself, it took great courage for him grasp it and to pursue the unknown path of entrepreneurship.
The talk was followed by a question and answer session which was yet another learning experience for the students. The visit closed with a photo session.
