Hajiya Aisha Wakil, also known as “Mama
Boko Haram” has said that members of the
sect have agreed to negotiate with the
Federal Government to facilitate the rescue
of the abducted Chibok girls. »
Wakil, who was recently declared wanted by
the Nigerian Army over her links to the sect,
also said that the group would soon make an
announcement about the girls’ fate.
Mama Boko Haram made the comments on
Tuesday, August 30, 2016, while speaking to
The Nation.
“Since I came back, I have been on their neck.
They have now agreed to come out and
discuss with the government and bring back
the girls,” she said.
“I am for the Chibok girls and all the captives.
They are ready for peace. This is what they
told me. I think they might post some
information on YouTube within 24 hours,” she
added.
Wakil was declared wanted by the army on
August 14 along with journalist, Ahmed
Salkida, and Maiduguri resident, Ahmed
Umar Bolori .
The declaration came after Boko Haram
released a video showing some of the girls
with a terrorist who demanded the release of
detained insurgents in exchange for the girls.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Bring Back Our
Girls (BBOG) group, Oby Ezekwesili has
urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take
charge of the proposed plan to rescue the
girls and not leave their fate to Boko Haram.
