With the effect of upcoming GST i.e. Goods and Services Tax applying from 1 July of 2017, Bajaj Auto has given some pre-GST benefits to the customers. Bajaj becoming the first motorcycle brand followed by Royal Enfield in the country to announce discounts ahead of GST, which will come to force on 1st July. Massive discount of up to Rs. 4500 is now applicable with immediate effect starting from 14th of June itself but the discount figure is totally dependent on model and the city of the sale and dealership.
“As a special gesture, Bajaj Auto has decided to offer post-GST reduced prices to customers with immediate effect i.e. from 14th June 2017 itself. It is the only motorcycle company in India, to pass on the GST price advantage to its customers well before the implementation date. The savings will be range up to Rs 4500 depending on the model and the state in which the motorcycle is purchased," BAJAJ spokesman said in a statement.
"With the GST implementation just around the corner, we felt that it would be appropriate to pass on this significant savings to customers. Bajaj Auto is the first and only motorcycle company in India, to offer post-GST reduced prices to customers even before the implementation date. Most of the other luxury and sport automobile companies like BMW and Audi India have reduced prices of vehicles to pass on the benefits of GST in June.
Under the upcoming GST bill, many two-wheelers will attract up to 28 percent tax, somewhat lower than the current 30 percent. Some bikes with higher engine capacity of over 350cc will have an additional cess of 3 percent.
